Hi all! i finally got my luggage last night around midnight. what a relief to have clean clothes! unfortunately a giant bottle of shampoo exploded over everything but Zita (my hostess) did an entire load of laundry just for me. how nice! today i had my first spanish class at a small place called La Lengua (meaning "the language"). I have them everyday this week for two hours and i can tell they'll be really helpful. I'm beginning to figure out how the city and buses work and today i took a trip the mall by myself. the buses are SO crowded people can barely fit in and you are literally standing on top of everyone but i guess it's worth it for only 25 cents each ride! everything here is cheap EXCEPT clothing. i went looking today and its more expensive than in the states. i havent had any opportunities to take photos yet because i dont want to bring my camera out until i know the area and how everything works. the weather is really strange and changes so often! its FREEZING at night, hot in the morning, cold in the afternoon, warm in the evenings, and back to freezing again. very strange.. more to come soon!
